Overview
Haunch is project management built specifically for structural and civil engineering practices in the UK and Ireland. Every module is shaped around how engineers actually work — not how generic project tools assume you work.
How Haunch is organised
Everything in Haunch lives inside a project. A project is a workspace for a single job — it holds all the tasks, drawings, calculations, meeting records, fee logs and correspondence related to that job, with a single audit trail running through all of it.
Above the project level, the practice dashboard gives directors a cross-project view: fees outstanding, team utilisation, pipeline and a health flag on every live job.

- Projects
- The master list of all jobs. Each project has its own workspace: tasks, files, meetings, fees and an audit trail.
- Tasks & RFIs
- Numbered work items — drawings to produce, calculations to complete, RFIs to chase, council submissions to make. Labelled, assigned and tracked.
- Files & Calculations
- A versioned vault for drawings and calcs. Includes a transmittal register for issuing documents to third parties.
- Meetings
- Schedule meetings, record minutes, assign actions and link everything to the project audit trail automatically.
- Pipeline
- A kanban board for managing incoming enquiries — from first contact to signed appointment.
- Tenders
- Track tender submissions, deadlines, fee projections and results.
- Capacity
- A week-by-week view of who is working on what, how loaded each person is, and where space exists to take on new work.
- Audit trail
- An append-only, integrity-checked log of every significant action across the practice — with sealed PDF/CSV export.
- Issues, Inspections & CDM
- Raise site issues, record inspections against a snagging list, and maintain the CDM register — all linked to the project.
- Contacts
- A shared contact book for clients, contractors, certifiers and consultants. Contacts can be linked directly to project tasks and meetings.
The audit trail
The audit trail is the most important thing that separates Haunch from a generic project tool. Every significant action — issuing a drawing, signing off a calculation, logging a site decision, changing a fee stage — is recorded in a chain of entries that cannot be quietly edited or deleted.
When an insurer, certifier or client asks what happened and when, you export a sealed, verifiable record. Haunch provides the paper trail your professional indemnity insurer expects.
