Audit trail

Exporting records

The audit trail can be exported as a sealed PDF or CSV file. Sealed exports include a verification hash so the recipient can confirm the record hasn't been altered after export.

Exporting the trail

  1. 1Open the project and go to the Audit tab.
  2. 2Click Export.
  3. 3Choose the format: PDF (for sharing with clients, insurers or certifiers) or CSV (for analysis in a spreadsheet).
  4. 4Select a date range if you only need a portion of the trail.
  5. 5Click Export. The file downloads immediately.

Sealed exports

PDF exports are sealed with a verification hash printed at the bottom of each page. The hash is derived from the content of the export — if the PDF is tampered with after export, the hash will no longer match and the tampering will be detectable.

TipWhen sending an audit export to an insurer or certifier, send the sealed PDF rather than CSV. The hash provides the verifiable integrity guarantee they need.

What is included

The export includes every entry in the audit trail for the selected date range: project events, status changes, file issues, meeting decisions, fee changes and manually logged notes. Each entry shows the timestamp, author and a description of the action.

NoteAdmin-only fields (fee details, admin notes) are excluded from exports shared with clients. Directors see a full export; client-shared exports omit these fields.
