Reading the trail
The audit trail records every significant action in a project — in order, with the author and timestamp, in a chain that cannot be edited or deleted.
What gets recorded
- Project creation
- Who created the project and when.
- Status changes
- Every change to project status, with reason if provided.
- Drawing issues
- Each transmittal — what was sent, to whom, and the revision.
- Calc sign-offs
- When a calculation is marked as checked, and by whom.
- Meeting decisions
- Decisions logged in meeting minutes land in the trail automatically.
- Fee changes
- Any change to agreed fee, stage amounts or invoice status.
- Notes & decisions
- Manually logged decisions or project notes.
Chain integrity
Each entry in the trail includes a hash of the previous entry. If any entry were tampered with, the chain would break and Haunch would surface a verification error. When you view the trail, you'll see a "Chain verified" indicator confirming the record is intact.
WarningNever try to delete or edit audit trail entries via any back-end access. Doing so breaks the chain and the entire trail loses its verification status.
